Kuaka New Zealand is an Environmental Tourism business providing Education, Tourism and Environmental experiences to a range of students from around the world and is renowned for Sustainable Development Education Programs and Sustainability in New Zealand teaching and learning environments.
Particular focus is on attracting individuals and groups from the education sector: primary, secondary, tertiary level students with a range of interests and educational focus or needs.
Conservation in New Zealand is totally about Sustainable Development – protecting the planet as we develop opportunities for humans to prosper.
Our programs target this learning by giving students hands-on experiences – creating, measuring, discussing, questioning and reporting on their day of sustainable development experiences.
Students will see their classroom learning come to life as they appreciate how their conservation actions can make the world a better, healthier place.
Our tours capture the essence of each area of Sustainability / Sustainable Development and set the level to meet the maturity of students.
Tours are very complementary and have lots of hands on learning. There is a tour with a focus on food and technology with sustainable businesses developing into the food quality and human health field. Another is about the sustainability of their own tourist experience and how to build a sustainable destination, including Te Puia, Waitomo Caves and Skyline Gondola & Luge.
Each tour is custom made to suit the requirements of each group. These can also include time in schools interacting with NZ students, participating in cultural and scientific activities as well as homestay with a NZ family if desired.
So not only are they suitable for casual one day tours, but they can be a structured set of learning experiences that cover the whole field of sustainable development with great case studies for students to engage in over a number of days all in the upper North Island.
